A Mysterious Laboratory: n.g.r. IV

08 | August | 2009

This logo goes way back, but I finally decided to flesh the the identity. It’s a research lab/facility that delves into high end/fringe sciences as well as trying to find practical applications for them.

Updated: In the gallery you’ll find a new ‘updated’ layout for this fictional research facility. It shrinks all controls to the top and still allows for ‘latest news’ to be above the fold. Also eliminated the tag cloud for more space. It’s the last in the gallery.

*Days calculated on a 24 hour basis instead of 8 hour business day, because ‘creatives’ like me rarely leave work at work. Times actually recorded with Mac Widget ChronoTrack v2.0, and rounded down to the nearest hour.

**Entire packet designed in Adobe Illustrator, a program I’ve never really ‘Groked’.  These IDs helped me delve deeper into the program so that I have an expertise in it to match my Photoshop skills.

A Logical Religion: n.g.r.vi

01 | March | 2009

So this is what kicked off my fit of fictional enterprises.  I thought, based on a futurama episode, if X-mas = Christmas; then X must equal Christ.  I extended that to include Christian, hence X-tian.  A cool new religion that is hip to the times by ironically modeling certain elements of ’stuffiness’. As an example look at the website idea, and the quote used throughout is actually from the Buddha.  I don’t have a time-to-completion though, but I’d place it at about the same as .do.t. They view themselves more as a society of progressive thinkers, and their initiations and members are often treated with an air of suspicion.  Many leaders, activists, and even other religious practices have had members in high ranking positions…
