Blue Me

A Younger David

Greetings friend,
Cards deliver much more than a message in this day and age, for me they possess a sort of intimacy not felt in other forms of communication. Even when printed, such as this card is, the physical nature of holding a tangible piece of a person’s thoughts connects the reader to the writer. You are holding one of 12 cards that has the same image silkscreened on the front. That of a man; that of me when I was a bit younger. The message, however, goes deeper. Hand written on this card you will find 2 binary sequences, they largely differ from one card to the next, but some are similar. The sequences stand for letters and only when all the cards’ sequences are together and decoded does a message appear. You have also been supplied with a key; that of a letter in the message that corresponds to a certain sequence. There are 2 keys that exist which should aid in translation. 11 other of my friends have been sent this letter, as well. Some of you will know each other and some of you may not. I will never speak to you of this card and leave it to your own curious nature should you wish to solve the sequence. As to the nature of the message, I will only say that it is why I am still a child.

Sincerely,
David

This letter was sent out to twelve of my friends, along with the image above.

Here’s a bonus key: a = 01100001
